Chicken can be cooked in a number of different ways. After trying many ways finally I found this as my best broiler chicken recipe ever! In North America, I used to miss our deshi chicken, but after I try this recipe I don't miss my deshi chicken anymore and I bet if you follow this recipe, you will never miss deshi chicken bhuna ever and you will make it again and again!
Chicken special bhuna recipe (Murgir Jhal Bhuna)
Ingredients:
1. Chicken- 1.5kg(14-15pcs)
2. Garlic Paste- 1tsp
3. Red Chilli Powder- 1tsp
4. Turmeric Powder- 1tsp
5. Salt- 1tsp
5. Cooking oil- 1/4 cup for frying
6. Sliced Onion- 1 cup for frying
7. Cooking oil- 3/4 cup for cooking
8. Whole Spices- 2 Cinnamon sticks, 3 cardamoms, 2 bay leaves, 4 cloves
8. Sliced Onion- 2 cup
9. Garlic paste- 1 tbsp
10. Ginger Paste- 1.5tbsp
11. Turmeric Powder-1/2tsp
12. Red Chilli powder- 1.5tbsp
13. Coriander Powder- 1/2tbsp
14. Cumin Powder- 1/2tbsp
15. Garam Masala ground- 1tsp
16. Nut Paste- 1tbsp
17. Boiled egg- 4 pcs
18. Water- 3 cups
19. Salt-1/2tsp
20. Green Chilli- 8-10 pcs
Step 1- Marinate the chicken with the ingredients in the SI no -2-5 for 10 minutes
Step 2- Heat 1/4 cup oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add 1 cup sliced onion and fry for 5 minutes on medium to high heat, when onion becomes soft, light brown add marinated chicken and fry for 10 minutes on med to high heat. After 10mnts turn off the flame and transfer chicken in a bowl.
Step 3- In a pan add 3/4 cup oil, once oil is hot add whole spices and fry for few seconds, add ginger, garlic paste and fry for 1 minute, add the ingredients in the SI no 11-15 and add 1/2 hot water, 1/2tsp salt, saute for few minutes without the lid on, then cover and cook for 5 minutes, after 5 minutes add nut paste and another 1/2 cup of water, cover and cook for 5 more minutes. Once the oil separates from the gravy, add fried chicken pieces into the pan and saute for 10 minutes on high flame, after 10 minutes add 2 cups of hot water, cover and cook for 20 minutes, after 20 minutes add 4 boiled eggs, cover and cook on a slow flame for 10 minutes, once oil separates and gravy is thick add some green chillis, cover for 2 more minutes and switch off the flame. Serve with rice or naan or paratha. Enjoy!
